Bruce Lee
herec, režisér, hvězda bojových umění
V roce 1964 se objevuje na Mezinárodním mistrovství v karate (kde mimo jiné potkává Chucka Norrise). Předvádí zde kliky na dvou prstech (palec a ukazováček), přičemž je dělá tak rychle, že diváci nejstíhají sledovat. Také zde předvádí svůj „jednopalcový úder” (one inch punch). Ten spočívá v tom, že Lee, který stojí čelem ke svému partnerovi má lehce nataženu pravou ruku, pročemž prsty jsou přibližně jeden palec (2,54 cm) daleko od hrudi jeho oponenta. Aniž by pravou ruku stáhl zpět a napřáhl se, Bruce rovnou udeří. Jeho partner je odhozen dozadu, kde dopadá na připravenou židli. Síla rány je však taková, že se na židli neudrží a padá na zem.
V následujících letech si Lee zahraje v jednom seriálu a hlavně – otevírá svou vlastní školu, kde vyučuje svůj styl Jeet Kune Do, což je kombinace mnoha bojových umění a jejich nejlepších prvků, které sám Lee vybral. Bruce Lee v zásadě studoval čtyři bojová umění a to: Tai Chi Chuan, Hung Gar, Wing Chun (viz článek o stylu Wing Chun) a Jun Fan Gung Fu. Dále se věnoval spoustě dalších, takže jeho styl obsahuje i prvky z Tae-Kwon-Da a mnoha dalších.
Smrt:
Jako oficiální příčina smrti je uváděn mozkový edém. Ten den byl Lee v Hong Kongu a po normálním pracovním dni, který strávil s lidmi, se kterími měl točit nový film. Po večeři si stěžoval Ting Pei (herečka, jenž měla hrát hlavní roli), že ho bolí hlava a ona mu dala nějaké prášky proti bolesti. V 19:30 si šel lehnout na gauč a když pro něj Ting Pei po chvíli přišla, nebyla schopna ho probudit. Přivolaný doktor se ho pokoušel vzkřísit, ale přes všechny pokusy byl Bruce Lee mrtvý dříve, než ho sanitka vyložila u nemocnice. Druhá (mystičtější) verze hovoří o tom, že Bruce Lee zemřel následkem takzvaného "doteku smrti" (dim-mak - funguje na stejném principu jako jednopalcový úder, ale následky se mohou projevit až po týdnech, nebo i letech), kvůli tomu že šířil východní tajemství mezi lidi na Západě. V té době mu bylo pouhých 32 let. Nedozírná škoda.
